The Rules 2013

Hey All,

As a new class of greats has been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and NFL squads are busting their butts in training camp, It's now time for us armchair GMs to get ready for the sixth season of the UMFL. So, without further ado...

Here are the League Rules:
1. Draft? There is no draft. Each owner will send me a roster and team name before 9-1-2013. I need time to make up the schedule.

2. Roster Makeup: Each roster will look as follows...
2 QBs
3 RBs
3 WR/TEs
2 K
2 Defenses (Yes, you will pick two full defenses I.E. the Cowboys and the Jaguars defenses)

3. Starting Lineup: Each owner will submit a starting lineup for each game. Your lineup will consist of players from your roster will look as folllows
1 QB
2 RBs
2 WR/TEs
1 K
1 Defense

4. Scoring: QBs: QBs are awarded 1 point for every 20 yards gained passing and 1 point for every 10 yards gained rushing. All TDs scored by air or ground count as 6 points each. I will use common rounding off procedures for point calculation.
ex. QB-A throws for 213 yards, runs for 24 yards and throws for 3 TDS. QB-A will have had a 31 point day. (213 P-Yds =11 pts. +24 R-yds.= 2 pts. +3TDs = 18 pts.)

RBs + WR/TEs: they get 1 point for every 10 yards rushing, 1 point for every 10 yards receiving and 6 points for each TD scored. Oh, and if they happen to throw the ball, they will get 1 point for every 20 yards passing.

PK: Each PAT is worth one point and each FG is worth 3 points. Oh, and if they handle the ball at all they will be credited for their efforts exactly like the position players.

Defense: Each defensive unit earns points in this manner. Each sack is worth 2 points, each turnover is worth 3 points and each TD is worth 6 points.

Note: All kickoff and punt returns for a TD will only be counted if that player is in your starting lineup that week.

5. Bye Weeks: hopefully you will put a roster together that will take bye weeks into account. If you don't, you can use any other player to sub for the bye week affected player.

6. Watch The Schedule: The NFL is starting Thursday Night Football in September this year, so if you have a player or players in that week's matchup, let me know you're using them before that game starts.

7. Roster Moves: You only get three, yes just three roster moves because a player is lousy. So pick wisely. Also, remember any player can be subbed for who is injured without it counting against your three roster moves.

8. Playoff Structure: Don't know yet. I'll see what works best after I get all the league signups.

9. Have Fun!!!
